Zahara Rum Camp is a place to reconnect. Named “The Pathway to your Soul,” this intimate retreat was built in 2023 in the Al Disah area, just 7 minutes by car from the Wadi Rum Visitor Center. With only 5 bungalows and a maximum capacity of 13 guests, Zahara offers something rare in Wadi Rum: privacy, silence, and a deeply personal experience.
The camp is managed by Alexandra, who runs a travel agency in Romania and has been bringing groups to Jordan for over 5 years, and Hamza Zawaideh, a local Bedouin who owns the camp and takes care of everything on the ground. Together, they combine international hospitality standards with authentic Bedouin culture; a combination that guests notice immediately.
What sets Zahara apart is its focus on wellness and retreat experiences. Beyond the classic jeep tours and camel rides, the camp offers mindfulness walks, sunset cliff picnics, stargazing sessions, and Bedouin fire ceremonies; all designed to help you slow down and experience the desert in a meaningful way. The camp is continuously being developed to host dedicated retreats, making it ideal for yoga groups, creative gatherings, and anyone seeking a transformative desert experience.
The 5 Sunset View Bungalows (panoramic deluxe tents) offer private bathrooms, air conditioning, and stunning desert views. A dining room, a firepit relaxation area, and a sunset photo spot on the cliffs above the camp complete the picture. Every guest receives a welcome basket with Bedouin scarves, room slippers, and sweets; a small touch that says a lot about the attention to detail here.
